New Haven Safe Streets is a broad coalition of individual organizations, elected officials and residents who are all advocating for streets that are livable, walkable, bikeable, economically viable, environmentally sound, and safe for residents of all ages and abilities.

The coalition has been organizing since May 2008, but many of our individual members have been conducting related work for a decade or more.

We are looking for dedicated volunteers who wish to get involved and help spearhead the campaign.

- CT Livable Streets Campaign: Join the group here for information about upcoming meetings on state legislative advocacy.

- Bike to Work Breakfasts: Every month at City Hall on Fridays, 730-930am. Typically the 3rd Friday of the month from April through November. Check Elm City Cycling for details.

- New Haven Prison Reentry Initiative and Reentry Roundtable: Please see here for details on this group, which local residents are encouraged to join.

- Elm City Cycling Bike Jamborees with safety lessons, bike coordination events, & safety checks. Free minor bike repairs. Ongoing, please contact the group for more information.

- Yale Medical Campus Traffic Safety Group: Join the group's listserv for information on upcoming events and planning meetings. The group is holding ongoing meetings with the Yale administration; contact newhavensafestreets (at) gmail dot com for more information.
